ELIGIBILITY

Membership in the Central Gulf Coast Chapter of NIGP is open to any public procurement personnel employed by federal, state, county, or city governments, public colleges and universities, school systems, political subdivisions, or other public entities who are full-time employees having purchasing, contracting or materials management responsibilities. Our membership year runs January through December.

Annual Membership Levels & Fees

Individual - $35.00

This membership enables active participation with the Central Gulf Coast Chapter of NIGP. Membership in the chapter shall be open to all public institution procurement and materials management personnel including federal, state, county, municipal and township activities, public school systems, colleges, universities, hospitals, commissions, authorities, and any other political subdivisions of the State; or full-time employees of NIGP member agencies provided they spend the majority of their time involved in purchasing or materials management functions; or persons with full time employment in positions having a direct influence on the public procurement process, such as elected officials, department heads, and educators. Compliance with the Chapter Bylaws and embracing the NIGP code of ethics is required. Members are not required to be members of the national NIGP organization, but are encouraged to join due to the educational opportunities and certifications that are offered.

Agency Paid - Tier I (1-4 Employees) - $35.00

This membership enables active participation with the Central Gulf Coast Chapter of NIGP. Membership in the chapter shall be open to all public institution procurement and materials management personnel including federal, state, county, municipal and township activities, public school systems, colleges, universities, hospitals, commissions, authorities, and any other political subdivisions of the State; or full-time employees of NIGP member agencies provided they spend the majority of their time involved in purchasing or materials management functions; or persons with full time employment in positions having a direct influence on the public procurement process, such as elected officials, department heads, and educators. This membership enables active participation with the Central Gulf Coast Chapter of NIGP. Membership in the chapter shall be open to all public institution procurement and materials management personnel including federal, state, county, municipal and township activities, public school systems, colleges, universities, hospitals, commissions, authorities, and any other political subdivisions of the State; or full-time employees of NIGP member agencies provided they spend the majority of their time involved in purchasing or materials management functions; or persons with full time employment in positions having a direct influence on the public procurement process, such as elected officials, department heads, and educators. Retired from Public Procurement - Free

Some of our Chapter members have retired from public service but wish to retain their certifications in NIGP or other professional organizations. This category of membership offers the opportunity for our retired peers to interact with our group and keep abreast of developments and practices in public procurement. Retired membership may be conferred upon Chapter members upon their retirement from the pursuit of their livelihood through active employment, and upon written request for such membership. Retired Members shall be exempt from payment of dues, but shall not be entitled to vote and hold office.

Honorary Status - Free

Our bylaws allow certain individuals to be designated honorary members. Honorary status requires membership approval. Honorary membership may be conferred by unanimous vote of the members up on individuals who have made distinguished contributions to the purchasing profession, or this Chapter. Honorary Members shall not be entitled to vote or hold office and shall be exempt from payment of dues.

Student - Free

Membership may be conferred upon individuals who are enrolled in undergraduate or graduate curriculum in public or business administration, political science, public purchasing or management, and upon written request for such membership to the Membership Chair and approved by the Board. Student members shall not be entitled to vote or hold office and shall be exempt from payment of dues. Student shall be defined as an individual who is enrolled at an accredited university or college.
